FootprintClean gives you practical tools to understand and manage the hidden information in your images.

What we do

We provide metadata inspection, cleaning, descriptive metadata editing and GPS writing. Our text tool helps you identify and clean selected invisible Unicode characters and inconsistent spacing. Images are processed on our server; text is processed in your browser.

What we believe

Privacy works best with clear information and useful controls. We describe what each tool changes, preserve rendering information by default, and encourage you to inspect a downloaded file before sharing it.

A tool, not a claim of authenticity

Metadata is only one part of a file’s history. Removing or editing it does not establish authorship, remove copyright responsibilities or guarantee that a platform will display a particular label. Please use these tools on files you are entitled to modify.
